Stazione - Station Pedro Vicente Maldonado

La stazione "Pedro Vicente Maldonado" è una stazione di ricerca ecuadoriana situata sull'isola di Greenwich, nelle Shetland del Sud. La base, inaugurata il 2 marzo 1990, prende il nome da Pedro Vincente Maldonado, astronomo, topografo e geografo nato a Riobamba, in Ecuador. La base è attualmente aperta solo per l'estate antartica anche se il governo dell'Ecuador sta lavorando per renderla permanente.

"Pedro Vicente Maldonado" is a research station of Ecuador, located on the island of Greenwich, in the South Shetland. The base was opened on March 2^nd 1990. It is named in honor of Pedro Vicente Maldonado, an astronomer, topographer and geographer born in Riobamba (Ecuador). The base is currently open only during the Antarctic summer even though the government of Ecuador is working to make it permanent.
